“I have been a student at PL-ACE for around 7 years, and I can truly say this experience was one of the most influential in my life. Not only have they helped me develop literacy skills, but also regulate emotions, practice gratitude, and build confidence. They teach versatile lessons that can be applied both in the classroom and in the real world, which encouraged me to be a more well-rounded individual. With their guidance, I founded a non-profit organisation that obtained a $1,000 grant and received early admissions to both UBC and McGill. Not to mention, I was able to end my semester with a 99% in English 12. The instructors there are more than just wonderful teachers but also trusting mentors and friends.

What is more, prior to PL-ACE, it was difficult for me to grasp Physics concepts and I performed poorly on tests. However, my Physics teacher identified the reason behind my struggle and personalised study methods for me. As a result, I developed an intuitive understanding of Physics and completed my Physics 12 course with a 95%. My deep dislike for the subject transformed into passion, and I am now eagerly enrolled in AP Physics 1.”

“My younger daughter started tutoring with PL-ACE in grade 9 [and she is now in grade 11]. Namam is her English tutor. She provides creative ways of learning to encourage and motivate my child’s reading, and to dig deeper into the meanings in the stories. Jess is her Math tutor, who is patient and gentle when approaching such a “frustrating” subject. He provides resources for her to explore other fun Math and Physics related topics that align with her interests. My daughter was able to achieve an A in her Math Honours class last year. And Ms. Mar Alvarez has been her favourite Science teacher ever! Mar has tailored all of her material to meet individual student learning needs and the richness of her professional knowledge is such an inspiration to my daughter. Of course, she is also super funny. Overall, I am very thankful for PL-ACE for supporting us with great tutors who we hope to have a long term working relationship with.”
